Marble โ€“ Navigate and discover the world!

Marble is a cross-platform virtual globe and world atlas โ€“ your Swiss Army knife for maps. This free, open-source software promotes free maps and is similar to Google Earth.

Explore your neighborhood with Marbleโ€™s extensive collection of city and street-level maps. Search for addresses and points of interest as the application queries various search backends, presenting their results in a unified view.

Calculate pedestrian, biking, and motorcar routes with ease โ€“ both online and offline โ€“ with any number of waypoints. Start exploring the world. View clouds and sun shadows, track satellites, and space stations, and display their orbits, all updated in real time.

Travel back in time and learn about historical views of our planet using maps from past centuries. Earth is not enough? You can also explore maps of the moon and other planets.

Marble Futures:

Desktop

Versatile, yet easy to use. Use Marble similar to a desktop globe; pan around and measure distances. At a closer scale, it becomes a world atlas, while OpenStreetMap takes you to street level. Search for places of interest, view Wikipedia articles, create routes by drag and drop and so much more.

Mobile

Turn your smartphone into a fully featured navigation device. It supports worldwide offline search and routing, allowing in-app data downloads at no cost. Activate turn-by-turn navigation with voice guidance. There are rumors about a tablet and an Android version being worked on.

Extensible

At its core, a software library powers the Marble applications, which are also integrated into numerous other projects, such as Digikam and the KDE workspaces. Utilizing the Marble library in your project requires only C++, Qt, and adherence to LGPL 2.1. Additionally, you can extend Marble itself using plugins.

This application is a versatile, lightweight geographical map component designed for integration into Qt 4.x / C++ applications. The MarbleWidget offers a comprehensive solution for displaying maps and locations, including support for GPS tracking and importing KML/GPX files.

Available for all major operating systems (Linux/Unix, MS Windows, and Mac OS X).
